RESILIENCY with Lisa Lisson
Working her way up the ranks at FedEx Express Canada, Lisa Lisson started out in an entry level position in marketing in 1992, to become the first female Canadian President in 2010.
Those eighteen years were not without challenges, particularly on the personal front, when her high school sweetheart and husband had a heart attack in 2007 at 38. For two years, praying for a miracle, she insisted on him being kept him alive. Meanwhile she was raising their four kids, aged 9, 7, 5 and 3 by herself and making sure her career not only survived, but flourished. But there were no miracles, and in 2009 he passed away.
Lisa knows first hand about resiliency. She will be sharing her thoughts on how she found resilience and the life lessons she learned in order to inspire others to find fulfillment with their work and at home, achieve their goals no matter what life throws at us to live each day with purpose and gratitude.

Lisa has become a renowned public speaker in Canada and the United States for her revealing discussion about becoming the first woman and first Canadian president in FedEx Express Canada history.
Under Lisa’s leadership, FedEx Express has consistently ranked highest among all transportation companies in Canada on leading published reputation indexes. In every year since Lisa was appointed president, FedEx Express Canada employees have rated FedEx as one of Canada’s best employers on the annual Aon Hewitt Best Employer’s in Canada Survey.
Lisa is an inductee to the Women’s Executive Network’s Hall of Fame as one of Canada’s most powerful women. She is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her achievements and work in the community. Lisa is passionate about access to quality healthcare for all children and, in 2013, she joined the Board of the SickKids Foundation and also serves as a Director of the Board for the Business Council of Canada. Lisa is also one of 13 Diversity 50 CEOs and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), University of Guelph.
Lisa starred on the award winning TV show “Undercover Boss” and is a best-selling author of a memoir called “Resilience”.

Jenny Munford has over 30 years’ international experience in building multi-million dollar enterprises from ground up in various industries ranging from hospitality, health and wellness to mass media, sports and technology. Jenny has received dozens of international awards for business, marketing and advertising. In 2011, she was an RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur of the Year Award Winner out of a record-breaking 6,400 nominees.
Jenny has climbed the mountaintop of success, yet she also knows what it’s like to fall down into the darkest sinkhole after losing her international advertising company in 2015 which she had spent over ten years building. It has taken her over two and half years to deal with the pain, fear and suffering all on her own. Yet from her pain came wisdom, from her fear came courage, from her suffering came strength. Resiliency is the virtue that has enabled her to move through this hardship and become a more confident entrepreneur. She’s now jumped back on the wild roller coaster ride of entrepreneurship where the tracks haven’t yet been fully built. However, she’d have it no other way. She’s happy that way – with the wind in her hair.
Jackie Porter has been named a finalist in the Wealth Professional Women of Influence Award for 2017. The co-author of Single By Chance or By Choice, (insomniac Press 2016) Jackie is a leading expert in women and money, and a powerful voice in the world of women’s financial empowerment.
Jackie has a passion for promoting financial literacy, and created a number of financial literacy camps and after school programs for the Toronto District School Board.
Raised by a single mom who passed away when Jackie was in her teens led Jackie to learn important lessons about becoming financially independent very early in her life. Because Jackie had to become financially independent at such a young age she was hungry to learn the principles of real wealth and saw the profession as her golden opportunity.

CEO and President, Canadian Women’s Foundation
Paulette Senior has devoted her career to empowering women and girls to overcome barriers and reach their full potential. She faced her own set of barriers when she immigrated to Canada from Jamaica as a young girl – an experience that ignited her interest in justice and activism.
Paulette began her career on the front lines of social service organizations in some of Toronto’s most economically disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Through her work and advocacy with shelters, as well as employment and housing programs, she has earned numerous awards and become one of the most respected women leaders in Canada.
Paulette joined the Canadian Women’s Foundation in 2016, after 10 years as CEO of YWCA Canada. She is a sought-after speaker and commentator on issues including gender equity, gender-based violence, women’s poverty and the wage gap, girls’ empowerment, and leadership. Her work at the Foundation is guided by the vision of an inclusive, national movement toward equity that will strengthen all Canadians.

Back by popular demand, Nancy will be walking us through improv, helping us to learn how think and speak on our feet.
Nancy is a sought after speaker, writer and improviser. A graduate of Second City’s Improv Conservatory and Sketch Writing Programs, this consummate professional delivers dynamic workshops on communications and creativity in unconventional environments. Rated in the top five of the Leadership Workshops at the International Microsoft World Partner Conference and a regular at Huffington Post’s team building events, Nancy delivers powerfully creative and memorable sessions. She delivers her energy, talent and humour to the corporate, education and healthcare sectors.
Nancy’s passion is about connecting through effective communication. She holds a special place in her heart for improv workshops that enlighten women about how we communicate. Often, there are subtle but powerful ways that we diminish our own status. In her highly engaging and camaraderie-filled improv session, you’ll leave laughing while having that “A-ha” moment.

Liz is an integral part of the Journey 2 Success conference. She has been our MC for the past eight years, leading us through the day with her quirky sense of humour and style.
Liz is a communications expert and has delivered innovative, engaging workshops and results-oriented coaching to individuals in Canada, US and Italy. With a unique background in classical music, dance and comedy improv, her approach is both creative and bottom-line. She has been a guest lecturer at the Rotman School of Management and has appeared on W network.
Each participant gets to pre-select which breakout session she wants to attend. At these sessions, along with eight other women you will learn more from the expert on the topic.
